Stone View Farm and Susquehannock Wildlife Society are partnering to host the SWS’s annual Firefly Night Hike and Campfire! Join us on a walk through a beautiful forest along the edge of a farm field to witness one of nature’s greatest wonders, the bioluminescent symphony of light put on by the firefly, a tiny native beetle that is known for its ability to communicate through its built-in illumination. We will discuss ways you can encourage fireflies to live in your backyards as well as talk about and hopefully discover some other nocturnal wildlife such as tree frogs, owls and maybe even hear distant coyotes. After our time in the forest we will return to the barn area to gather around the campfire ring near the barn to enjoy some delicious s’mores! Tickets include educational firefly hike guided by SWS, hayride, goody bag, and s’mores kit.
